- Best practices for surveying adult mosquitoes to define the target
- Best practices for surveying mosquito larvae for larviciding
- Best practices for mosquito control in wetlands
- Best practices for mosquito control in the rural/periurban system
- Best practices for mosquito control in the urban system (public places)
- Best practices for mosquito control in the urban system (private places and points of entry)
- Best practices for the comparison of available monitoring and control tools
- Best practices for efficacy evaluation in mosquito control
Introductory talks, given by invited speakers only, will be followed by working group debates on the different topics, before restitutions to the whole assembly.
Attendees can suggest posters presenting their experiences in developing/applying best practices for mosquito control.
Following this workshop, online guidance documents on best practices for mosquito control in Europe will be produced by EMCA.
A special one-day TRAINING COURSE will follow (on 30th November, 2022) with limited vacancy (initial estimation, 20 persons) so only if you are truly interested, please fill up the pre-registration form here until 30/07/2022. If any selection of attendees is needed, priority will be given to mosquito surveillance and control practitioners.
TITLE: “IDENTIFICATION OF CONTAINER-INHABITING AEDES MOSQUITOS EGGS”
CONTENT OF THE TRAINING COURSE: “Identification of invasive Aedes species eggs” (Aedes aegypti, Ae. albopictus, Ae. japonicus, and Ae. koreicus). With practice on identification by microscopy and MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry; PCRs will be introduced by talks/videos (SOP - Standard Operating Procedure)
SITE: at the Vector Ecology Unit of the Institute of Microbiology at SUPSI in Mendrisio, Switzerland
ESTIMATED FEES: 50euros for EMCA members, 80euros for no EMCA members
INCLUDES: all necessary laboratory material, certificate of attendance
