10th EMCA WORKSHOP

The president of the EMCA, Rubén Bueno-Marí, together with the Board wish to invite you to the

X^th WORKSHOP of the EUROPEAN MOSQUITO CONTROL ASSOCIATION 

which will take place in

Speyer, Germany,

from 23 to 24 March 2020

After twenty years of successful collaboration of the mosquito control professionals of Europe, the European Mosquito Control Association (EMCA) will hold its Xth Workshop in Speyer, Germany , from 23 to 24 March 2020 entitled «EMCA — 20 years together against mosquitoes - which challenges for the next 20 years?». Our goal for this year“s workshop is to highlight the achievements of the association during the last twenty years and to elaborate together suggestions for future milestones. In this context there will be five subjects to which contributions can be made and in which active discussion will take place:

Subjects:

1. Experiences on mosquito control programs in Europe
2. Surveillance and management of invasive species
3. Mosquito-Borne Diseases in Europe
4. EU regulation on biocides
5. New challenges in Mosquito Control

Registration fees:

EMCA members: 100,00€
Non-EMCA members: 160,00€
Students EMCA members:  60,00€
Students non EMCA members:  100,00€

The payment of the registration fees should be done in cash at the registration desk which will open at 8 o'clock on 23rd March.

As in the past years we anticipate an attendance of about 70 persons. But we will be able to accommodate up to 100 participants in the conference room. Priority will be given to EMCA members.

Accommodation:

40 rooms have been reserved in the nearby Hotel Technik Museum. The participants are requested to make their own room reservation as soon as possible refering to the EMCA workshop in order to obtain a special rate.

Abstract submission:

Oral contributions should not exceed 15min. and be related to one of the above mentioned subjects.
The preliminary program as well as instructions regarding the abstracts, will be communicated in the second announcement.
