Why do mosquitoes bite?

Female mosquitoes need blood to develop their fertilized eggs. For nourishment both female and male mosquitoes feed on plant nectars.

How much blood does a mosquito take in a meal?

For a complete blood meal, mosquitoes need between 0,001 and 0,01 ml. In total a mosquito can imbibe uo to three times its weight in blood.

How long do mosquitoes live?

Mosquitoes live between two and six weeks. It depends on the species and the environmental conditions.
