Bti-WG
Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, Bti, is the most widely used mosquito control agent. Since its discovery in 1976, it has been intensively studied regarding effects on both target and non-target organisms. In recent years, studies on non-target and ecosystem effects have intensified again.
Bti is used in various formulations, dosages and application methods.
There is an immense amount of information available in the form of published articles, reports, local documents and presentations, but it is not always easy to find specifically what you’re looking for.
Why do we need Bti WG?
Gathering literature and documents and making it accessible for EMCA members will provide a profound library for sharing knowledge. It will provide a single entrance to search a large and diverse repository.
Who is the Bti WG made up for?
Mosquito control operators, researchers from the field of entomology and ecology, authorities, more or less everyone involved in mosquito control.
Purposes of the Bti WG
What are we doing?
We have started building a group library in Zotero and are in the process of going through the publications included by the members of the working group, sorting them into topic folders and assigning keywords.
The library will be made accessible for EMCA members when we have finished the library structure and the review of currently included documents.
We also plan to prepare a document highlighting and summarizing articles we consider most important.
